The Social Contract

I came across this quote while in history class. We were studying The Age of Enlightenment which took place during the 1800s. The quote came from a french philosopher, Jean Jacques Rousseau. During the time many other great people were publishing brilliant essays on theory and human developement. However this individual had a very trying lifetime and his writings show that. This quote stood out to me as something I know we can all directly relate to and is overwhelming in this time and age.

With school, work, "love", parents, bosses, lots of costs, lack of time and other bullsh!t we're always under extreme restrictions and in such a rush to get nowhere.
